We charge 45 pounds per week for DIY. This includes feed and turnout every morning 7 days a week, 2 bags of shavings per week, unlimited hay or haylage, rubber matting in stable, storage area, rest room with free refreshments, use of a floodlit 40x40 all weather menage, XC course, SJ arena, large grazing area either individually or with others.
i'm £20 pw stable, straw, hay , they turnout in am for me on return i look after theres when they on hol but this is with a private yard of folk we'v known a while i am very lucky used to pay £40 pw for the same at livery yard
wow wheres ur yard lol, DIY around our area is about £25 a week (south wales), not including bedding but generally inc hay/haylage, the yard im on at the mo is £25 stable and field then haylage bedding is extra, i think it depends on the area and facilities, our yard is great, you dont mind paying more if ur in with a good crowd and the GG's r happy
At last yard it was £15 a week, got use of school (not great surface and flooded a lot but floodlit), XC course (small) round edge of fields (was ace) and a jumping paddock in summer. Also got large stable and individual/pairs turnout in good size field. And that is what i would expect for DIY. Anything extra help wise i would count as assisted DIY and anything extra feed etc wise i would count as extras to the DIY service
used to pay £35/wk at a yard near uni plus £7/wk for adlib hay/haylage was expensive but handy for uni. included individual turnout, ok menage, ok hacking & american barn stables. yard manager was hopeless/arrogant but owner was very nice!
then i changed onto a cheaper yard as i moved my youngster up to uni as well so had to settle for what i could afford. Paid £22/wk for limited grazing, but could turnout as much as wanted. Had to source own hay & bedding. Poor menage (rode deep, flooded, dusty during weather extremes). dodgy stables, ie chewed, sticky doors, holes. Hacking onto a main rd, ie a 60mph A road that led into a city centre, but ok if you can get passed that. hopeless yard manager & owner but pretty much left to our own devises re fields so wasnt too bothered initially.
£25 per week, menage (outdoor will soon be floodlit), rug change and morning turnout with breakfast that you provide, if you leave it outside stable door the night before, haynet change (you provide) if empty, after dark. Cost price wood pellet bedding and carrots.
I pay £20's a week for a stable and a field and thats it!! nothing else included. I was paying £40's a week for a stable, a shared field and the use of school but nothing else included ....but realised this was slightly too much for what it was ...if thats any help xx
I am paying £20 per week. This is for ITO and stable. Good hacking and friendly YO. Were paying £40 for the same but couldnt resist the move for the savings.
I pay £20 in Summer, £30 in winter. 24/7 turnout in summer, all haylege included, shavings are £7. Includes 80 acres ofhacking round fields/woods, full BE XC course, indoor and outdoor schools.
The fencing is electric tape and wooden posts. The YO sees to maintenance, we supply battery and energiser but we can split the paddock however we want . Very happy with it.
I am moving soon and will be paying £25 pw for stable, use of school, turnout in a small group, and YM feeds them all in the morning, but will be paying £2 (6 days a week) for horse to be turned out with rug change in the morning due to work hours. Can get hay/straw/shavings through the yard so think its quite a good deal.
Was paying around £200 - £220 per month, hay, straw, grazing, stable, school. Seems quite high for DIY but horses were checked at least twice a day when out, all maintenance done, fields poo picked by yard, fenced with horse friendly fencing etc.

Very much Ditto!!
We pay 25 per week for grazing and stable, haylage is charged by splitting it between all stabled liveries,if haylage in field cost split that fields horse owners .TBH works out good as you pay for what you get usually works out 20/30 per month
Have a minimal flood lit very basic sandschool (tbh do wonder if its builders sand as quite heavy in parts)
It is totally DIY only thing YO does is give haylage and sorts fencing/fields as required( he also runs a working farm)
Think its fair
At first yard think it was £22 per week or something. Got a crappy stable and field, no electricity, but haylage/hay/straw. Crap fencing and not great hacking- no arena.
At second yard, £23-£25 per week, better stable, 24/7 TO, decent grazing, group turn out, use of floodlit school. We bought in our own hay and bedding.
Have now moved and am on part livery, not cheap but so much happier there.
I pay £35 a week for stable, individual turnout, use of horsewalker, 60x40 outdoor arena, lunge pen, individual tack locker, client lounge. Hay and bedding is extra and we have to buy it from YO. Probably a bit expensive but rather good facilities in this area.
Jackdaniels1 where in notts are you? Thats a right bargain!!
I pay £25 a week just for a stable and grazing, have a sandschool but not floodlit. I buy in own hay/bedding/rubber matting and I turn horses out for other girl at yard and she brings in but sometimes I go twice especially at weekend! Bonus is its a private yard but all are expensive around here, If I wanted what JD has would be paying about £60 a week!
Just a question those of you paying £20 or under are your yards, fully insured and operating as a business and registered with councils as a livery yard and paying business rates, and do you ask these questions when viewing?
