...does your horses' urine smell funny?
All three of mine are getting about 400g twice a day. They are fit, healthy shiny etc, they don't drink or wee excessively, but when they do, it smells of malted biscuits
it's not a really sweet smell, more malty/biscuity. The urine is normal in colour and volume.
I only noticed this when I increased the copra gradually up from the token cupful they had been getting. Nothing else in their diet has changed. The horses are aged from 10 up to 26, and they all smell the same.
I'm not really worried, as they are all healthy, but curious. I'm guess it's a bit like when we eat lots of beetroot
