For those who fix own rugs

I have only patched up stable rugs so yes...double threaded for extra strength and I do a running stitch and then do it again. Seems to hold!

I have some waterproof material from the saddler and uhu glue have fixed rips a foot long and they are waterproof, can't sew.

Plaiting thread, and sometimes normal cotton thread if doing the lining of rugs.

Candle wax sounds great, will have to try that!!!

When you've done your sewing, dab a bit of clear silicone on it, the stuff for bathrooms and kitchens, it's flexible and waterproof, you can get it from the hardware store

Embroidery thread, it has six strands, I normally peel it into three and three. Super strong, I get mine from Hobbycraft. :)

I am so going to try the superglue and the mastic tricks!
