For those who have been to olympia this year ...

Can I hijack this please - Mr P needs a Himalayan salt licks. I know at other shows this year, they have been on offer (4 for £10, that kind of thing) - has anyone seen if they are on offer at Olympia?

If not, I'll pop in to my local tack shop & get him one. X

There were Himalayan salt licks and I think they were pretty reasonable, but I immediately dismissed the idea due to the weight!

My advice would be allow plenty of time to peruse the shops - they are plentiful. We got there around 4.30 for the 7.30 performance and the timing was ust perfect and the shopping nice and quiet at that time. There were some good headcollar leadrope set offers - I bought a lovely long cheap whip and some high viz stirrup reflectors and a fur headband. Food was very expensive and 2 quid for a can of drink or a bottle of water - so bring your own. There were some beautiful saddles/paintings/sculptures etc to ogle and admire.
I was tempted by some patent black and crystal encrusted overreach boots, biut only one of my herd is shod.
There were also siome beautiful long boots and hats which were expensive.

Loved the shops on the first floor. There were some really interesting pictures and pieces of art there but unfortunately only had time to glimpse everything.
The saddler and tack stuff was good, didn't notice too many bargains though. Probably more bargains and selection were to be found at YourHorseLive, but TBF, the stands were good and I got some lovely stable wraps from Premier Equine which are excellent.

The curry stall sells a great vegetable curry.

Yep, can you remember which stand was selling them? QUOTE=MerrySherryRider;12209822]Yes, the shiny bling ones with sparkly stones ? Remember seeing shiny black, shiny pink and another colour, forget which though.[/QUOTE]

Noooo. Sorry.
I'm thinking it was around the outside, past Premier equine, round the corner and up a few stands from Rydale welly boots.

But I might be wrong.

Another bargain I bought was an O'Haslams fine long sleeved rugby style top for a bargain tenner at Olympia on Monday and it's beautiful quality - I wish I had bought it in the blue too now - they only had a small rail of them presumably end of the stock. The shop was over the far side ground floor away from the arena and almost halfway up. Generous fitting they had sizes 12,14 and 18 in burgundy and a blue grey.

We went yesterday. Brilliant shopping but didn't really find any bargains. My daughter got her boots polished for free in a demo for saddle polish which was a bonus! Had to stop ourselves buying sheepskin numnahs in lovely colours that we really didn't need.

I went Tuesday and am back again Sunday and I thought the shopping this year was the best it's been for years- was pleasantly surprised!! Lots of bargains and good selection of stuff in all price ranges. There were quite a few stands that had the over reach boots, they're on my list for Sunday as were taking the car then! We got there about 2.0-3ish for a 5.15 start and it def wasn't long enough to get round all the shopping! Enjoy :)

I'm still here. I got 3 pairs of Whitaker breeches for £100 and a Whitaker headcollar and matching lead rope for £10.
Dad and I have been drooling over the devocoux saddles - I'm so tempted to go and buy the breastplate but it's the wrong colour and I don't really need another one. :o

First time I have been in about 7 years!!! Will be there this time tomorrow... and already have a shopping list longer than my arm currently, and it is pay day for me tomorrow too wooooooooo!

I'm going on Sunday to watch M&M's in the morning and then for the afternoon performance, haven't been for years so looking forward to it. Sadly can't think of anything I could possibly need for the neddy's though....
