Did anyone get the desired results? I thought formula 4 feet was really expensive but it is acctually around the same price as hoof mender. How much do you have to feed? Because for Formula 4 feet it says a 3kg tub will last 6 weeks for a 450kg horse so how much do you feed yours?

Thanks!

I fed my xracer on formula 4 feet and noticed a difference in a couple of months and kept him on it for about a year.

I have now started him back on it and also my 21yr old 7/8th TB, we give half a scoop to each and the latter horse's hooves have been the best they have been in 14yrs. A tub lasts me about 6-8 weeks.

Ive fed F4F for about a year now to my ID. He gets cracked feet and big chunks of wall break off. His feet have just started cracking again now so I don't think I'll bother carrying in with it TBH. Not enough improvement for the price.

How much is formula 4 feet? Our farrier recommended farrier's formula which cost about £28 (bought a re-fil pack and decanted into an empty biotin tub because the tub was £36!!)and lasted a couple of months but really improved his poor feet. When it ran out we went back on to biotin and now just monitoring, but so far, his feet have maintained their improvement.

I fed F4F in an attempt to get my horse's slow-growing hooves to grow a bit more, to give the farrier something to work with (she needs careful trimming due to a tendon injury, but if she has no hoof for him to work with or if it breaks off, she ends up lame). It took a long time to work, but it really did work and her feet looked far better after six months. I then put her on Top Spec as it worked out a bit cheaper and that managed to maintain her feet as they were.

I wouldn't hesitate to use it again. Supplements andf feedstuffs are very hit-and-miss though, so it may not work for your horse! Try it and see (if you can afford it)!

Oh, and as far as I remember, every pack of F4F comes with a scoop.

I use F4F and swear by it. If it works you can also get a big sack for aabout 60 quid - I do and it last me about 3 months - all the tubs and sacks come with a measure so you can feed according to size of horse/pony. I have my cob and our Sec A on it - both have had laminitis in the past and they have it as a year round supplement and their hooves have never been better.

Don't forget with any hoof supplement it will be at least 3 months before you start to see any difference in the hoof as it takes 9 - 12 months for a hoof to grow fully from coronet to bottom.

Out of the commercial hoof supplements f4f seemed to work best for mine, farrier commented on the growth and improved quality but it seems that some seem to work better for some horses than others. I let it double up as a general supplement so it didn't work out too pricey.
I got mine from Prequestrian on Ebay, a sack is equal to just under 3 tubs so would last 18 weeks for an average horse. It does come with a scoop.

Don't use it anymore as now he's being rehabbed barefoot and everything has changed inc supplements but it helped at the time.

fed naf profeet for 6 months (winter)..... significant improvement in the at time

fed F4F for 6 months (summer)..... visible deterioration. flaking round nail holes etc.

have been back on profeet for last 6 months and they are much better again, the test will be if they remain good over this summer.

I think different horses respond to different things, I had previously fed seaweed and biotin which didnt make any difference either

Another devotee of F4F, I have had my TB for nearly 4 years and both me and my farrier have despaired of im ever having decent feet. I have fed F4F for the last year and today my farrier asked me to take a picture of his feet as they're the best they've ever been. I also alternate cornucrescine and effol a couple of times a week each, he actually managed to keep his shoes on for 9 weeks over the bad weather which was previously unheard of.

Love Formula 4 Feet, been using it on my mare for 2 years and would never be without it now. She had very flat feet which cracked easily and struggled to keep shoes on. After around 3 months of using it the benefits were easily seen, her feet have been much stronger and growing faster allowing the farrier to carefully shape them and help to get them more upright. Her overall happiness and going is 100% better - best money i have ever spent!
