how big/much did your horse/pony grow between 2 yrs and fully grown?
What breed was/is he/she?

Do you think that a pony is TOTALLY different to a horse, or much the same regarding average growth?

Just to add, my New Forest filly is 2 years old and is 12.2. Her dam was 12.2. Her sire is supposed to be 14.2.

My two are still youngsters but the 3 yr old was about 12.1 at 2yrs and is now 13hh he's expected to make about 13.2-3 and he's a Dhp x cob, the other pony is 2yrs, a New Forest and is currently 13.2, he's expected to be about 14.2-3 when he's finished growing.
If your Forrester is similar to mine then I would guess she'll be about 13.2hh.

Horses and ponies can keep growing right up till 6 or 7. This might not mean height wise necessarily. Some breeds take much longer to grow for example warmbloods typically don't stop growing till much later. My mare just turned 4 know has grown in.less than a year from 16.1 to just under 16.3 so yes they do keep growing after 2. Hope this helps a bit x x

This theory is not supported by the evidence. Breed and gender make no difference to skeletal development.

also work been done on 2 different groups of horses one fed normally and one gp i think was shall we say undernourished and feed makes very little difference. it was shown that horses are predetermined to make a specific height irrespiecticve really of diet.
