I had a warblood x ID that was 15.2 on his fourth birthday and was 16hh at the age of 6 (but he was measured with shoes when we measured him at 6)

My gelding whom is Holstein x ID measured 16½hh as a 4yr old then measured 16.3½hh as a 7yr old.

My friends horse is TBX and he grew nearly a hand in the year after he turned 4! I think it's hit and miss really but there is a reason they don't issue life height certificates at 4/5!

My IDX measured 15.2hh at 4, and was 16.2hh a year later!

My mare is TB X WB but more TB'ey shes prob grown an inch since i had her when she was 4... so not much. She has thined down alot and muscled up... so looks more Tb than she did.

my tb was 15 3 at 4 and 1/2 he is now 16 + havent measured him lately hes 6.He also put on 180 (is it lbs or kg on weight tape)

Am reading this thread with some trepidation... My rising three year old KWPN x TB (3 in May) stands 17hh now. God knows what he'll be at 4

My 4 yr old mare came as 16.1hh (a gift horse!)
Then measured 15.2hh and a bit.
Mine shrank!!

Axel has grown 2 inches since september.

He was 15.2 as a 4 yr old, he didn't grow much when he was 5 but he was 15.3hh in september and he's now 16.1hh, he was 6 in feb.

He was supposed to only make 15.2, which is why I bought him! The ironic thing is that he was sold because he wasn't going to be big enough

He's bigger than his mum now!

Oooh - another one like mine. She didn't grow at all for two years from 3 to 5 and now she's six she's just grown a rug size and a couple of inches at the rear since Christmas.

My 3yo (will be 4yo in July) is already around 16.2 or 16.3hh. Any tips on stunting growth? How do you shrink them?

LOL Halfpass's mare is not even 4 yet and is about 17 hands already!

My old horse Rocky was 15.3 as a yearling, and made 17.1 at maturity

I'm torn between hoping she doesn't grow too much...and hoping she will as her bum's considerably taller than her wither at the moment. She takes a 6'9" rug too...and weighs a bit.
Somebody should have warned me that Shire crosses could be large....

my pure tb was 16'2 at 2 and at rising 3 is about a mm off 17h i do wonder what height he will make when hes fin growing!!

LOL Rocky was a shire cross too, I'm sure he would have been even bigger had I fed him for the first 4 years of his life!

Our Shire cross is 17hh, mind you the other half is Clydesdale

Mine was rising 4 when brought him and was 16h and half an inch. He is now just under 16.2hh, but has changed shape so looks quite large!!
