little local show yesterday on the beast and well, he was much better behaved than last weekend, only this time I had him in a snaffle instead of a pelham that I had borrowed...BIG MISTAKE!!!! I couldnt blimmin stop!!!! I should have read the warning signs in the warm up area when all he wanted to do was zoom round, went in the hunter class against my better judgement and it was going quite well until the steward asked us all to canter on together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ooopsie! Went zooming round up some poor ponies backside and at this point my partner thaught it would be comical to video my individual show...my arms were being torn out my sockets and I couldnt help but laugh during my show as i clearly had little control. The judge said i did make it all look very dignified though!!!!

I think we've all been there at some point lol so don't worry about it, besides local shows would be so very boring if every horse went round foot perfect, people need some form of entertainment! :D

Well done anyway, better luck next time.

lol... oops!! That is what happens to me at shows in a snaffle!!! I share your pain....... :) I only do hunter classes now as I can wear a pelham.

I'm getting there with snaffle in dressage, but too much excitement at a show to keep good control!

im glad im not the only one!! To be fair to him, he didnt really do anything naughty, just a bit on the fast side, and a bit sideways too! That was the only way I could slow him down as it was becoming a pulling match! pelham next time i think!!!!

Ha! I remember entering a "best rider" class for a bit of fun with my cob just after I got him. The judge was this sweet little old lady sitting on her deck chair and as we changed the rein in canter we had a steering failure and nearly flattened her! Needless to say I didn't win but I wasn't last either!

Just a comment not a criticism (honest), as he is so forward, would he go more quietly if you took your spurs off?

If I wore spurs on mine, she would be off like a robbers dog LOL

He really has some nice paces though!

he is no different, i wear them for showing, i turn them out a bit and make sure i dont use them, incidentally, they can be useful to nudge him opver when he does he wiggling through the shoulder business, if that makes sense!
