Just had the stark realisisation that I'm Unlikely to have a a non early weekend start for the next 10 years, tomorrow is week 3 of mini going out to jump with another week to go. Then she starts with pony club at end December not to mention me trying to fit in me competing in the spring.....

And we do it why?

Lol, wouldn't have it any other way but please tell me there are other mums in the same boat:)

My 10 year old is horse mad and i spend my time mucking out and taking her to pony club and events too! Trying to fit in the house work, working full time and fitting in rugby and cubs for my son leaves me no time to ride myself. Why do we do it? Love i guess, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Although my farming husband would argue differently :-)

Been doing it for the last 12rs :/ we've actually got a Sunday off tomorrow & I know we're both going to be bored out of our brains! It's hard work but she's not hanging about on the streets upto no good like her friends do so well worth the commitment :D x

Us too. When our daughter was in the early classes most of the time it was all early starts. Now at 14 she tends to be in the later classes so we get a lie in. But with some class sizes being 30 or 40 to a class we now grumble about getting back to the yard long after everyone's suppertime! Relish the very short time you spend in classes 2 or 3!

Haha yes definitely this!! Long gone are those early morning starts that I hated until I discovered that hanging about all morning to set off & then coming home in the dark & cold is even more grim ;)

My daughter said to me the other weekend "what would we do at weekends if we didn't have ponies?, all my friends get bored, we never have time.?" Definitely keeps us both out of mischief and leaves OH to play as much golf as he likes.

Lol, am hoping that early starts will deter mini me from boys when she is a teenager lol. :)

I don't ride so don't miss out on riding time, but my 8 and 10 year olds have both ridden since they were 4.I don't know what I'd do with my time [and money] if we had no ponies.I hate early starts but have gotten up at stupid o'clock on winter mornings to take them hunting, and have run beside them for 3 hours so they can keep up with the rest of the field.Hunting, shows and Pony Club are the only things that get me out of bed early though.

I 'sold' ponies to my un horsey husband by telling him it would keep them away from boys. His reply was 'so does a shot gun and it is cheaper!' He is allergic to horses [or so he claims].
