Follow on from the 'my horse ate a likit within 2 hours' thread... With many saying they are worried about lami with the amount of sugar.

Uncle Jimmys Licky Things! the best thing ever! My cob took literally 5 minutes to eat his likit... It now takes him 2 weeks! I think he likes them just as much and they're so much healthier. They fit into the likit holders too which is a bonus. Ooh, also, they come in a molasses free one... Or many different flavours :D

Sorry if you already know this, but I highly reccomend them :)

Sadly I've tried them and my boys really don't like them :-( My Big Lad isn't hot on Lickits either (but does love the Garloic Horselyx) however my little lad LOVES them and will demolish them in less than a minute.

I rate these too! Love them!

My cow pony managed to eat one of the Jimmy likits in 2 days! Admittedly, that was in a position where he could pin it against the bars in his stable. Now I have had the sense to position it so he can't pin it anymore wuhahahaaa.... so far, one has lasted him 5 days and counting. *Touches wood*

Do you think he likes them?..... xx  :D

I wouldn't let my horse anywhere near one, sorry. I am convinced that an Uncle Jim's hanging ball gave her laminitis, despite the fact it was taking her weeks to eat it. The only other food she was getting at the time was hay and chaff and no turnout, so that is the most likely candidate. If you want to hang a treat for your horse, bore a hole through a swede and use that. Far cheaper and healthier if you ask me.

I can't understand why anyone thinks Likits or the sugar Uncle Jimmys are a good idea, it's like giving a child an endless supply of chocolate.

Bad for teeth, bad for feet, bad for the digestion, bad bad bad :( :( :(

ps I just checked the "sugar free" - no 1 ingredient maltodextrin, a polysaccharride (sugar?) and analysis list says Total Sugar as Invert, Max – 31%

Doesn't sound very sugar free to me!
