Do you have a favourite?

I love all my girls and they all get the same level of care, love and attention but I admit that I do have one who is just a bit more special to me. So, am I alone or do others have this too and if so do you ever feed guilty?

between me and my mum we have four.

Billy is mine and is therefore my favourite.
Then the other three are all similar, although i have a soft spot for the old mare we have. Does make me feel abit guilty though. They all gets lots of attention and love.

I have the two, mother and daughter.

Mother is currently in full work and is "my" horse. Daughter is rising 3 and out at Grass so works well.

I do sort of lean towards my older mare as I have had her for 14 years and daughter is just a baby still :)

I have 3 and love them and treat them all the same but my cob who is the one i ride is my real baby and most definately my favourite, he interacts more with me and is very affectionate and easy to love where as my old man is grumpy and the mare is new so dont really know her yet ;) x

Yes, I have 2 and my older gelding who I have owned a lot longer is definitely my favourite! I love him so much more and if times were hard and I had to sell one it'd be Nelly. I do feel a bit guilty but I think it's only natural to be more fond of the one you've had longer. Nelly is an aloof mare anyway and doesn't like being petted and cuddled whereas my older horse loves it so I kind of justify it in my head that Nelly doesn't want all my attention anyway!

I think this is the same for me. Billy plays and is cheeky all the time; its so easy to love him! His just too cute! I love the others too but they are older grumpy bums.

I love them all - each is very special to me but I have to admit I adore one of the mares, Noodle, just a little bit more than any of the others. She is like a security blanket, she never lets me down and she's just so loving. Don't tell the others!

Glad i'm not the only one.

All four of mine are so special to me but one of my girls is "the one". She's tricky and difficult and only really trusts me (and while we are working to change this as it would be better for her if she trusted others too) it does make me feel a very special bond between us.

Not so much a favorite, but i tend to go through moments of favouring one. At the moment i'm all loved up with my big gelding cause i can ride again. Soon i will be show prepping my small gelding so i will be all loved with him lol

I have two. I generally treat them the same and seem to go in phases of 'liking' one more than the other so I don't really have a favourite.

I have 2. I have a favourite to ride as he is easier but I prefer the other horses personality. He's cuddly and loves human attention. He also does stupid things and makes me laugh.

I have 4 1/2. i do secretley have a favourite despite not having her half as long as some of the others and with all her issues and shes the only one i cant do anything with! She just has something about her that im drawn to! Shes a beautiful, fat and fluffy iberian polar bear!
Having said that i dont let her get away with bad behaviour, my anglo is still my baby (5) and would get away with murder, should he ever choose to go on a killing spree! (but hes naturally very well behaved. Luckily!)

I think i let the boys get away with bad habbits/behaviour sometimes because i feel very guilty about my mare being the favourite. Stupid i know!

My three are all very different, so I don't have a favourite. If push came to shove and I had to sell one, I'd really struggle to choose, but I would probably keep CM as she's getting on now.

I have 2 and the one I've had 9 years (first pony ;) ) is my favourite, even if she has become difficult and grumpy! Bless her.
Mind though, I had no idea how much I adored my bigger mare (only had her 4 months) until she had a colic scare a couple nights ago. Thankfully only minor, but scared me to death especially after losing Daisy x

I have four and no, no favourite.

However when I stopped riding my old mare and started my gelding, who was a bit of juvenile delinquent, I used to blame him for not being like her. Hit me like a brick one day that he wasn't her and would never be like her and I'd better get over it and move on. Once that happened, life got a whole lot easier for both of us.

I have carried that forward with with another horse and it is a good thing to remember I think. You gotta luv 'em for what they are.

My little mare is definitely my favourite as she's my best friend and Will's more my mum's horse. Will and I have a rocky relationship and while I love him we don't really 'click'. Sophie just 'gets' me and I her.

I have two ponies but even my best friends would be hard pressed to tell you that as one of them is the apple of my eye

I love both of mine in very different ways. I've had Ginger since the 90s, so naturally I know him very very well and utterly adore him. He has always been my favourite! However, the horses I didn't bond with as well are those I no longer have. Lady is very easy to love - she's funny, genuine, lovable and seeks out human company. Ginger is quite indifferent, unless there's food involved, whereas Lady always seems delighted just to be with me which is always a nice feeling! They are definitely my favourites out of all the horses I have known, and I'm incredibly lucky that they are the two I own!

I felt so guilty a few weeks ago the morning after some bad weather, because driving up to the field stressing about them having gotten out (they can't go anywhere from the yard it's all shut up at night but just in case they'd hurt themselves) and I was relieved as soon as I saw my Thoroughbred :o

It's not that I don't care about poor little Oakley, I'd be devastated if anything happened to him, but Major is my baby :o

I have two, and I've got to say i favor my old boy but i have allot stronger bond with him. but my mare takes allot more of my time and money  it's a good thing there are at different yards though other wise my old boy would get jealous of her. he hates to see me spending too much time with other horses and not with him.

Genie always has been, and always will be my 'favourite'. I did feel a bit sorry for Titchy because she would never have the same place in my heart, as much as I adored her, and the same goes for Pondy.

I keep mine with my mum's two. Mine is, of course, my favourite. The thing I feel guilty about is that Mum's horse was supposed to have been for both of us. I just don't get on with him and I feel awful for it! So I don't have a favourite so much as two I'm ok with and one I refuse to deal with too much!
