For you out there who own connies

Can I join?! Mine is only half and is too tall to be a pony - but no one has told her that! In character (too much of it!) and appearence, she is all connie pony!
Do you have a connie? ... pics?

edited: here is my girl (though she is better built now as she is more established in her way of going, better muscle!!)

If you get a photobucket account (free) you can load your pics on there and then use the IMG code to put them on here.

Have a go, would love to see him!

We've got a lovely fat connie at the moment wins the majority of dressage tests he's entered in, is a demon team chasing and this will be doing his first CCI/CIC* eventing! Very exciting to watch him go round!

Here is Sarebo aka Sam my daughters 15.1 13 ( this year) old Connie x Tb gelding who we have had for 7 years. He always has a bundle of energy to go with his ' tude'.

He is very much part of the family and has been there, see it done, type of chap who still likes to act like a 4 year old.

Wow all your connies are gorgeous, I've put a deposit down on one, and picking him up on Sun, he's a dun (althou with abit of grey mixed in) I will post some piccies soon :)

I always post the same piccies so sorry to those who have seen them hundreds of times!!

This is Bailey - he is 20 this year, not full connie but is pretty typical!! I'd love a slightly younger bigger version, a connie x tb will be my next horsey!!!

Now I am a sucker for a grey like TicTac's (gorgeous pics!), but he really is gorgeous! What a stunner! Such a kind eye too. Should you ever want to move him on, do send him down to me!
Hahah. Thank you he is such a sweety!! He is nearly black now!!

Suzie 86 your pony is such a lovely colour always wanted a dun!!

Hutchie... Good luck you will love having a connie!! What have u bought???

oh he's gorgeous, so pretty with his star!

(the yard is really fab, we are on livery there and it is so nice to be on a proper 'old skool' stone yard!)

thank you :)

he is out on loan at the moment, just down the road but I dont visit too often as I get all emotional!!!! He is doing PC rallies and competitions with a lovely 13 year old girl and being spoilt rotten. He has got cheekier with age and I must admit sometimes I like the fact that my little new forest project pony is so quiet and sweet to handle - it gets tiring being constantly headbutted/dragged/nipped etc!!! :) Wouldnt change him for the world though and hopefully it wont be too long til he comes home to me

There are some stunning horses on this thread :)

I hope so :) I've bought a 6yr old gelding, I've bought him from a dealer, he's registered and I tried him out and from what I've seen I loved him, I just hope it all goes ok as it's my first pony :) I took my friend who has a connie also, and she was smitten.

:) I must admit I do rather like your grey girl, such a nice colour!! And so white and clean!! v nice type, but still has that cheeky pony look!!

Not just the cheeky look I'm afraid - rather a madam this morning!! Everything was VERY exciting!!! I do love that she is an over grown pony, being 5'8'' is pants as I don't want a horse, I'd much rather have a pony - she is perfect as she manages to be both (for all the good and bad that brings!).

Loving the connies on this thread, nice to hear they all have something about them, such fantastic characters!

Hutchie - you are going to have the best time ever with your new connie! You must post pics!

hehe thank you :) I really am embarrassed that I've had him nearly 9 years and other than professional piccies these are basically all I have from a digital camera!!!!!!

She is a bit of a heinz! Her dam was full connie, sire was idxtb (a son of Clover Hill which I think does add a dolop of pony-ness in itself). Although she is 15.3 she is v pony like - esp when she gets her winter coat, she is just a big fluffy pony, not to mention the 'too clever for her own good' character!

I just love her to bits, she really is my one in a million horse.

Oooh ooh me too! Mine is my half bred by Ashfield Blue Rock. First pic is her at 3 days old, can't remember which order the others are in but she is variously 4 months, 2 years and 3 years.

This has taken me most of the afternoon to do:confused:

Love the pics of all the others - have any of you any idea of their breeding? I would be so interested to know.

My pony is a connie but looks a little different from the rest in this thread! He's currently 2 and a half, I've only just got him and yes he is a mess, but rather cute :) Can't wait to get him in tip top condition. He's under size at the moment, only 13hh when his sire is 15hh and his dam is 14.2hh (so I've been told). So I really hope he will have a growth spurt. He reminds me of a section A at the moment haha!

You better had!

Native Eventer: Do you know who yours is by? (I love him!) There are a few dark bay Connie stallions around.

Charla: Love yours as well. My mare was a full 14.2 and dad was 15hh but my little girl who will be 5 in June is only around 14hh. I have not measured her mind you, and she was a first foal which many say (and I don't know the scientific truth in this) that they are always smaller.

Charlie is a 14.2 irish bred (Dunlewey) connie that we had brought over from Ireland. He will turn 18 this year and i've had him since he was 3.

I love to show him off, so sorry for the photo overload!!
