My OH will be looking at one later today and hopefully if any good PX my Volvo for it. We have dogs, rabbits (which I show) and would like something decent to pull horsebox/caravan with. My OH is an electrician so would like a practical vehicle to borrow if his van is out of action. It's on a 04 plate and bright red, but in very good condition. Also has the roof over the pick up so ideal for the dogs/hay/feed etc.

Anyone own one? Any bad points to look for? Unfortunately I'm on lates at work so have to trust my OH (who can buy on impulse sometimes) as I cannot make it in time to view.

Only worry I have is how do you park the bloody thing coz they are HUGE! Bit ironic as I drive buses all day, but I don't EVER attempt to parallel park them!!!!

yeah we've got one and i don't think we've had any major concerns. ours is 04 but we got it new and its the thunder version whatever that means. it does stick out of normal parking spaces but its not too bad. we went to the south of france in ours and i found it really uncomfortable for long journeys but normally its quite nice. we towed with ours, the dogs go in the back, it gets filled with various objects ie horse food, hay, cupboards

Ive got the newer one 06 0n shape which is very good. I did have the older model (2003)which was very low geared and drank diesel if you drove it over about 60 on the motorway.. newer ones are a lot beter if you can stretch to one , having said that the old one towed well and was reliable so if the deal is right go for it..

I use my dads newer one for towing with its very good. One of my friends has the older model and its good for towing to.

Is it a double cab? I got in the back of one the other day while on a work trip. My colleague who's about 5'10" max banged his head getting in, and then when I swapped places with him I actually got my knee stuck! I have reasonably long legs but I'm only 5' 7" - so my suggestion is don't offer anyone tall a lift! I know they're all a bit tight on space in the back, but that was extreme

Yep, I've been squished in the back of one too! Mind you if you don't often carry passengers I'm sure it'd be fine.

Ive got one. We have the dogs in the back and my kit in the back, back. We carry passengers occasionally and its a bit tight but not too bad.

She is ok on gas at about 28mpg. My wife parks ours without much difficulty. She wont parallel if she can help it though
