Was supposed to rain from Friday, now their is no rain in the forecast until the following Thursday!

I'm running out of grass, I'll have to put them back in the winter paddock at this rate. The land is just dust.

Also finding that Bo is wearing his feet completely smooth because every surface is so hard, so he's slipping on the roads, even though he has scoots on his front feet. 😳

Bugger, our forecast has changed as well. We were meant to get some on the coming Saturday, but it has disappeared. We have had so much cloud for the last week, I've had to rug the horses again. It is so frustrating to see all that water in the sky, but no rain. I feel like I need a mssive stick to reach up and burst the clouds!

We have been sticking to the winter sacrifice paddaock for various reasons, (and feeding haylage) but it is REALLY anihiliated now. Hopefully they can move to their summer paddock soon, but that doesn't have the amount of grass it ought to, so it won't last long.

There's still rain on my forecast for Bucks from Sat. I'm supposed to be x-c training on Mon and I know they've still got spaces because people won't sign up if the ground is hard.

I'm through one of my smaller paddocks already.

It’s also parched here, but we unexpectedly got a useable amount of rain last night. BBC R4 weatherman is only admitting to it having rained/be raining in NE Wales, but we got some here over the border in England too.

The ground is rock hard.

Lucky you. It didn’t reach here ! The 2 oldies won’t eat hay and there’s hardly any grass now , I’m increasing their mash feeds .

We have showers forecast for tomorrow onwards. Sorry!

Although it’s fairly dusty and the ground is solid we seem to have enough dew overnight to help the grass grow a bit. We likely do need rain though.

We had lots forecast for tomorrow. Now just light showers. Rain for the weekend has gone too. My summer budget is blown as one horse can only have haylage so of course they all want it in the field.
Fence judging BH Monday but surprised peeps are running BE as course aggrivated but not watered.

We desperately need rain, I keep looking at our hay fields and wondering if we should graze them instead but I think we're better to use a couple of bales of hay now and hopefully get our winter supply of hay, it's looking very sparse though and I can't remember the last time I was haying in May!

Defra is warning farmers to prepare for a feed shortage this winter. If you can store hay, buy some now, and stock up on chaff as well.
I thought that might have been the case. There is a huge field by us which for as long as I can remember has had at least 3 cuts of clamp silage from it. The farmer took a cut a week or so ago and has now ploughed it.

We have rain forecast for the bank holiday weekend.

Yeah our local guy now saying possibly Sunday, we do need it tho
My phone app is saying we will have rain from 5 to 7.00 this evening. Exactly timed for RDA sessions! But it looks like it's less than 50% chance. We really do need the rain, we are still feeding haylage and the RDA ponies are also being fed again
