Does anybody know the criteria for showing in a foreign breed class??

The reason i ask is i have been told to show Inky in the foreign breeds class. He is a part bred American Miniature horse ( his dad is an American import and registered under the American Miniature horses association and his Dam is British bred )

Miniatures are believed to have originated from Europe but you could say they come from all countries. However i am unable to show him in any british bred miniature classes as both his parents need to be british.

Do you think he has the right to enter these classes, im unsure whether he qualifies???

Mostly, they are for any breed not native to the British Isles. Some schedules will stipulate what is and what is not eligible, but not always. Some will also stipulate No Arabs who generally have their own class at shows.

Just to add, if he is part-bred, most Foreign Breeds classes will not be open to him, as they are usually for horses / ponies that are pure bred and registered with the relevant breed society e.g. Friesian, Fjord etc.
