Forget Cobs - go really big

Just gorgeous!

I used to help look after a 16.3hh Clydie, he was brill, would follow you round like a puppy.

ooooo, he is gorgeous.

Don't tend to ride the heavies myself as am whippet thin 5'7 of bones person and I look stoopid up there.

However, rode my mates 17.2 shire driving mare the other day. Once I got past the "omg if this decides to go, I'll never stop it" I loved her and we beat all the kids at the gymkhana games practice (took her in a lesson for a laugh). Although I did nearly break my ankle doing a flying dismount in the ride and lead. Turns out 17.2hh is actually quite a long way down when the horse is still cantering.

My sister has had two ShirexClyde mares, one lived until her 40's, the other sadly died at Easter this year, aged 11. They were both the kindest, sweetest natured animals in the world. I can't find any decent pictures of them on this computer, but will look later. They were both left hairy with the most amazing manes and tails

I've loved seeing these pictures, they're fantastic! I remember a huge shire type horse jumping at my riding club a few years ago and it was always placed.
I haven't ridden anything so big myself (I suppose a 17hh warmblood doesn't count). Thanks for posting the photo's, I think they're magnificent!

this is my clydie x 17.1hh pickle. He is an complete star, jumps brilliantly as has won all but one yard show in the 3 years I have had him. his jump off turns are legendary! He also looks after the smallest child, and even a young child with something to stand on can tack him up!!!! young kids can also jump him, walk/trot/canter. He is just a complete allrounder

I'd love to figure out to get photos on here then I could show my beautiful boy.
Hovis is 16HH, 5 years old Cylesdale cross. He's gorgeous, fast over ground and is learning to jump like a stag! I'm a wuss but he'll have a go at anything. He's not scared of anything and is loved by all who meet him.
