Forget stopping the Grand National - how about banning tethering??

Hmmmmmm food for thought most definitely... and the stallions at a stud which never see daylight except when covering a mare or "milked" for semen. (Don't know name for it).

Have you seen that vid in India where some b**** ties a poor ponies leg then whips it???

THAT is unbearable to watch... I would find it but I'm too traumatised to try.

Nope, I have never seen that video and never aspire to tbh :( things like that traumatise me too!

And yes, I suppose other lifestyles some horses have are as bad in some instances. And often we are killing with kindness, treating them like people instead of horses! Its fighting a loosing battle to be honest.

hear hear in fact at the risk of being shot down and non p.c ban the bl&%&&y gypsies from keeping horses!

I'm not PC and I'm not one for shooting people down, but I think this was a cr*ppy thing to say. I've known travellers who have shown a great deal of respect and care for their horses; it's not good to tar every one with the same brush.

but no authority touches these tethered horses or police we all know that, but why should they be above law, bet they all have passports as well.

I haven't read all the replies, so someone may have already said this.

Actually they do. In Bradford, there is action being taken on the housing estates to stop tethering of horses & ponies.
WHW were asking in a survey that I took part in asking people to rank in order of importance various issues, such as travel to slaughter & tethering (I can't remember the others). I quite agree that tethering should be banned.
