:(I just finished writing my notice for our current YO. I have tried to be as polite and pleasant as I can, but is there ever a nice way to tell someone that you are leaving even though their yard is amazing?

Really hoping that she isn't offended...I know people at the yard have moved before. Some even came back, so hopefully YO will understand. I mean people wouldn't come back if she was horrible to them for leaving, would they?

Sorry. Stressing out and rambling on a bit:o

If she runs a good yard, she will know it, and wont take offence at you leaving. Its the ones who run bad ones who think they are good who get uppity when people leave. Dont worry about it, write in your note what you wrote here and she should be fine!!

Its difficult and I worried myself mad over telling mine. Just be honest, ie. I spoke to mine and said that while I love where I am, I need to move them as its too far for me to be travelling. YO was lovely and said she'd expected me to move the ponies when I had moved.

I gave the YO a pic of her horse and her son (who looked after ponies if I went away) a box of choccies :D

I've not yet had a YO be anything but nice when I've handed in notice.

Well, I've spoken to our YO. She was absolutely lovely about it, and completely understood our reasons, though my OH says that he thought the two of us were about to start bawling our eyes out at one point! Have to admit, it was pretty emotional.

It turns out that our YO knows the manager where we are moving to, and she agrees that it is a nice yard. She was sorry we were leaving, and is going to miss us...and Hippo! She feels confident Hippo will settle in well as she is very outgoing and loves being out in the field to gallop about.

We are all hoping that her current field mates won't miss her too much...
