First - do you pay much attention to them? Being in an inexplicably foul mood last night (who knows why, the fact that I'm shut in with flu and hence on here instead of in the polytunnel, or the high risk strategy of a glass of pinot grigio on top of all that lemsip, who can say?) something wound me up royally and I WAS a bit snotty, I must admit. (sorry folks, and apology pmd to main victim) But I was accused of being snotty because I had read something into someone's forum name. Which I thought odd. I mean I am not, I have to tell you, a skewbald. It's just a name, honest.
A quick look has just told me we have a tiny pony on here and the sugar plum fairy - neither of which I believe to be quite true - so I was genuinely surprised - do you read a lot into forum names? (scratches mane on fence and wonders whether a change is in order ...)

Second - I have been ill now for five days and doggedly tried to find out how you clever bunnies are changing your names to give them a festive feel - and I have to throw up my hands in despair and admit I can't - not on profile, not on details - so would someone please put me out of my misery and tell me how to do it?!

I may add tinsel or I may change it to Sick Person on the Sofa, just to keep it accurate!

TBH I pay hardly any attention at all to user names and frequently have to backtrack to find out who posted something. Obviously I am not a Ladyinred.. it is my girls reg name and something that even I manage to remember without too much difficulty.

There was a sticky about festive name changes, I know you have to contact TFC but I think you might have missed the deadline..

Errr.. what was your name again??

Nope, take no notice, otherwise I would be the werewolf policeman from the terry pratchett novels..... and I am sure I am not one of those.

Clearly I am not, nor do I have, testicles so no. I don't take much notice of them apart from to sometimes think 'o, that's a good one'

I am Bessieboo cos it's the name I use most round my little fat one.

The name that everyone who knows me really well calls me is Scarymary, now just what does that say about me?

(No offence to any Mary's out there, I think it is a perfectly lovely name)

I always smile when I see a post by 'MiJodsAre2BlinkinTight' .... that's about as close to the spelling of it as I can remember.... cos mine are. Always.
I'm crazydancer because its a name I picked ages ago and have used on other forums, and I used to dance, a lot. The dancing *may* have been slightly alcohol-induced on many occcassions. :D
And now I have a mental image of NP as a Welsh section C.... with hairy legs and smelling of flowers.....

I don't dig (unless I have to), and I'm certainly not 66. i joined another forum just before HHO and for that site wanted a name that was not gender specific. At which point youngest son walked through asking for his digger.
Was too lazy to think of another.

I thought it was a play on gesticulate.

Red nosed Fany, your new username is brilliant! I must admit I laughed out loud the first time I saw it! :D

Mine is abit dull compared to most, it is my horse's show name, which I have nicked for myself as I do a lot of painting son it kind of suits me. Said horse is a skewbald called Luca who I consider mself lucky to have as he is wonderfull, hence the name was born! He did used to be Painted Lucky but everyone kept reading as lady which I found annoying as he is a boy hence I changed it:) Yada yada, hope I haven't sent you all to sleep with my long explanation!

Edited to add- I do look at usernames (!) I put a lot of thought into mine so assumed other people did to, clearly that's not always the case! (And some of them are very funny- ditto MiJodR2BlinkinTight and Red Nosed Fany!)

I often look at the usernames here and wonder where people get them, why they chose them etc. I don't read anything into them, hell, mine would suggest a HUGE ego! :p But i just really admire the blood line.

1. surprisingly, i'm not much like a nativepony either, so no i dont read "into" names

Hmmm. Sorry, but I actually do picture you as an Exmoor, like my Mum's old pony, Mustard: glossy, thick coat, street smart, good at your job on your own terms and could kick a fly's eye out if needs be.

Oh and trashes a post and rail before you can say "You little b88888888!"

:p

I dont read into names but do look for certain people posting--some I avoid, others will definitely be interesting and will start a debate.
So puzzled at the moment as cant be bothered to guess who is who among Xmas names--although some obvious

My name is stable name of a favourite horse owned for 17years--he was apparently named after transporter who moved him from sale in Ireland and I never changed it.
