Forward girth groove - hates anatomical girths

I have a horse who has quite a forward girth groove with a decent barrel! I’ve tried Prolite and other contoured girths but the all seem to gape between his legs and are super tight close to his barrel if that makes sense and it’s causing nasty pressure points.

I was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue? Or if there are any better girth out there for this issue? He’s had gastric ulcers so is a bit girthy at the best of times hence why I want him to have something super comfortable.

Thanks

I spent years never using curved girths for forward girth grooves in my fittings, then the company I fit for changed their designs and I came across the Harry Dabbs waffle ones as a budget option, and I do use and recommend both, however they are barely ever NEEDED as such. I would want to be 100% sure of the fit, and do you have a point strap? The way I fit this is what keeps the saddle back, not the girth. However a softly padded curved girth of a standard design like the Dabbs in synthetic or leather, is definitely worth a try. For long girths the Stubben cord girth can work brilliantly too, but if the groove is deep and "pouchy" it can fold over and pinch.

I couldn't quite get a Prolite to work in my horse for similar reasons. He now goes in a Mattes Asymmetrical girth or a mohair girth. Both are comfortable and give him good elbow room.
