Hd my new horse for about 2 months and im starting to trust and get used to him BUT!!....
I have only ever rode plods that you have to pony club kick to get going.... and TBH i was sick of them so when i had the opportunity to buy another horse i went for something quicker off the leg because i felt it was the only way my riding could progress.
Believe me for a cob he is soooo responsive and willing its unreal (which is good!). It just knots my stomach sometimes when im trotting, as he steadys with a half halt, but after every say 10 strides he needs another one.
I know hes not going to bolt but ive had a few accidents on horses that have in the past so its an automatic thought when i can feel them picking up the pace!
I know everyone will say get used to it and i need to chill but its soooo hard.
Sorry i just had to get it off my chest!!! And also i want to know what others prefer - forward going or ploddy (obviously for all the eventers & SJs etc out there i apologise as it would be fairly obvious what you would prefer!!!!)
