was just walking my dogs on the local common land when I saw a giant dog in the distance, I thought what. the. hell. then thought it was a cow. then got closer and saw there were 6 gypsy cobs just standing there, in the middle of the path. I rang my nan as she lives on the common and would have probably seen them, she said she rang the council a few hours ago and they told her they had had loads of calls and are getting there asap. well a few hours later and they are still there...
what do I do?!

Oh gosh this sounds like the type of situation I come across though normally it is actually dogs! Not much more to add but hope the powers that be get it sorted quickly...maybe a phone call to the police saying they are getting 'close' to the road may help

Is this on ashtead/epsom common? I know there's a big field near my office, on the north side of the M25 adjoining Barnett wood lane that has a couple of dozen gypsy cobs in - think this pretty much backs directly onto the common, maybe they've broken through the fence? Don't know who owns them though...

where I used to live it would be more likely I would post if there was a common WITHOUT such horses running loose...:-((((!!!!!

There are calls for flygrazing to be made a criminal offence and really I think it is the only way to make inroads on the problem.

I called the police when this happened to me, they did turn up, they were concerned, however they had no clue bout what to do, I had to stop them getting injured as it was a herd of mares and foals and mummies were not happy! Ended up with me sneaking up on and catching the only mare with a headcollar on and pied pipering it to a field where we could close them in. Was a fun interlude in my work day!

yes Epsom common! apparently they have come from horton which also backs onto the common! I know the ones you are talking about on Barnett wood, always drive past them :(
