So funny, I lobbed an apple over the fence (middle aged horse shocked

, loan companion thought I was trying to kill him

). Young horse on the other hand gave chase like a dog! Then she scuttled back up to the fence to see if there was any chance of another one. Lobbed another one over her head down the field and off she shot like a bullet. In the end she was sort of bracing herself like dogs do when you are about to throw a ball ready to give chase everytime I drew my arm back. I think I have a dog rather than a horse!

Only trouble with the new exercise plan is she might get colic if I do too many! I'm going to try to borrow a camcorder, so funny to watch.

Ha ha!!!! That sounds so funny! I am going to have to try it out with mine, although I have a feeling they will look at me like I am stupid.

Ooh ooh - mine do that too! My grey horse is a bit nippier than the chestnut though (and faster on the uptake) so very often he will snaffle both apples before the chestnut has ascertained what's going on..

My chestnut thinks he is a dog too, he will quite often grab the dogs tennis ball if it is near him, very confused when it sqeuaked!! and he also likes to play tuggy with his lead rope, he has also tried to play chase with the dogs out in the field but they weren't too keen! He was most put out that he wasn't allowed to run about with them!
I also do dog agility and he will quite often break into where all the equipment is and pick up the poles or walk through the jump wings and likes to canter round the tunnel in circles when the dogs go through it!
Very strange pony!

Chunkytim, I have thought about that, but cant see how to get her to carry back something thats not edible! Her tummy definitely rules her brain!

Still it has got me thinking - maybe if I gave her a treat everytime, for example, she did a good shoulder in or good square halt etc she would probably learn a lot quicker than with my inadequate efforts at conventional schooling!
