I have come to conclusion that share horses are like buses. Five months of looking with nothing suitable coming up and then in the last week and a half, four owners suddenly pop up asking for sharers.

Firstly I should say that I've been riding about 10 years but had 18 mths off due to pregnancy, baby and now lack of shares! So rusty and just looking for something laid back to hack and play int he school a bit.

No. 1 - an ex-racer, ex-polo pony that I didn't get on with at all. I had a test ride and we were obviously speaking different languages about contact and impulsion and we ended up crowhopping around the arena. So said no thanks and carried on looking

No 2 - broken down eventer that has come sound and is in need of lot of roadwork. Had a hack with his owner on her other horse. He was quite nice and felt safe but he is very unfit and I wondered how he would be as he fittened up. I was hoping for somewhere with better hacking,as his yard is only near two, rather short byways,

No 3 - friends youngster. Nice pony with a cheeky streak but bucks in canter (which I found out after being launched out the side door) and I wouldn't have the time or experience to school him properly,

No 4 - 19yo heavy cob. Decided to go with him in end as he's done everything and got the t-shirt. Will be a plod for a novice but if you press the right buttons he can do some fair dressage moves. Feels very safe out hacking with a lovely armchair canter. Also he's based on a farm with a ton of off-road hacking :)

Oh and another friend has just rung to offer me rides on her cob whilst husband is off ill. It never rains....

Chocolate all round if you managed to stay the course through my random ramblings. Just feeling very happy :D
