Found another possible foal - Opinions on this one please!

I also preferred the other foal, those pasterns to me are worrying, not sure even a photo could make them look like that? Suppose it's possible as they look better in the last photo (though hard to tell!)

Wow I am amazed I actually picked out some confo flaws that other recognised! I'm learning!! LOL!!

Mandk I prefer the first one you showed us! personally I think this onbe, breeding wise, will not be much of an athlete, vanner cobs are lovely, but they don't make the most agile eveneters the first horse looked more agile and more of a sports horse type, but this could be my personal preference coming through.

I'm not sure where you are based or what your budget is but look on this site www.rollestone-farm.com, they have several foals for sale one of which will likely make over 16.2hh that is by Treliver Decanter. They also have a Sambertino coloured colt.

I really like the look of Check Mate on this stud site - but do not think he will be big enough

.............. this is what happens every time something catches my eye - not big enough or wrong breeding ! Gets tiresome

But I still really like the first one and been in contact with the owner a lot - booked in for viewing as soon as I could- I will just have to wait and see!

I think you can get a LOT more for your money.

You'd get more for your money if you'd consider a non coloured horse. Beauty is as beauty does and all that.

Not keen on him really and I don't think his breeding is great for a sports horse.

With a Vanner for a sire, he could end up really chunky, and also Vanners aren't really bred to be sports horses. To be honest if you wanted a talented competition horse I would go for one that is bred to be that, rather than take a chance on something with rather random breeding that could grow up to be totally unsuitable.

Its a strange cross dont really see vanners as the best athletes. Just had to add theres nothing wrong with more white than colour i love my chap just the way he is, blue eyes and all!
My vanner isnt the most eye pleasing to most people, theres nothing that stands out about his markings but its all about his personality and whether he is right for the job. I certainly would not buy a horse just because he wasn't the right colour!

He's got a sweet face, but must admit I wouldn't be thinking of a Vanner cob x ISH cross as particularly great for a talented sport horse, ISH on it's own yes, but not crossed with Vanner cob.

What about this chap, not a great photo, but might be worth seeing in the flesh and but interesting bloodlines.

Brendon Hill Stud also breed some super horses, have a look at http://www.brendonhill-stallions.co.uk/

Conformationally speaking, I find this youngster very unpleasant on the eye. Colour-wise, I find this youngster very unpleasant on the eye.

I also far preferred the previous foal you posted about, and I would go and take a look.

Colour is important to some people, can't see why anyone would have a problem with someone else wanting a coloured or a palomino, or whatever - EVERYTHING makes the horse what he is, and if Mandk wants a coloured, why shouldn't she? Gosh I'm sure most of you choose what colour of car you want; doesn't make the blooming car drive any better ... sheesh, Lol!

I prefer the 1st foal you posted, this one hasn't got the same look in his eye!
It wouldn't hurt for you to go and see both though! Make sure you see the 1st one 1st though

Post saying you are looking for a foal and describe what you want, i did and got lots and lots of PMs. I saw a lot of lovely foals. They seem to be far and wide though.
