wearing a collar but no tag. not friendly or confident. safely caught and at my place. Dog Warden and police notified. have emailed DogLost but their 'found' form won't accept today's date, very helpfully...
please pass the word around, someone must be missing her.
have posted this on fb too.

hmm, she's safe in a big cage here, with food, water and a cosy bed, but in spite of all this she still tried to go for my proffered hand, through the bars. i'm not used to aggressive/defensive dogs at all... i guess i should just leave her alone, not try to make friends at all.
top tip for capture of an aggressive dog - piece of rope with slip knot, threaded through long piece of solid pipe, like the ones the dog wardens use. we haven't touched this dog yet, put it that way, she really is not friendly, poor thing. :( :(

Don't blame you for keeping your distance, but poor girl has obviously got good reason for not trusting, so really hope she's just lost and has a good home to go back to - please let us know how you get on. Not too far from me but don't know any missing in the area.

Please be very careful, likely just very scared, but could be a guard dog that's escaped. Good luck locating owner, I can only advise notifying dog warden, vets and call the dog warden for collection.

Good luck, and happy new year.

Not sure exactly where you are, but try contacting Rotweiller Rescue, they are usually of great help, we have a local branch here in S Wales but sure there must be one near you, if you need the contact number of my local branch plaese pm me and I'll look it up for you they may have detail of a resue place closer to you. My friend has successfully re-homed a number of rotties on their behalf, don't do anything to get yourself hurt but remember a lot of her aggression may be through nervousness.
