a) Why ruin two very good breeds (one obviously more superior ;) )

annndd

b) What would posses you to do this on purpose!!! I can see the 'logic' in some crosses.....but really?!!

It is. It has to be. The colour/furr doesn't match & how likely is it that if someone was mental enough to breed a husky with a corgi, it would make that height?

im a photographer for a living, use fotoshop everyday. could be wrong but in my opinion that pix hasnt been photoshopped  altho i see exactly what you mean, doesnt look right does it?

some 'breeders' are such muppets

If it is photoshopped, they've done pretty well to get the head cut and pasted with all the furry fuzziness round the edges. Doesn't look right though, does it... but I think that's probably more down to muppet breeding than photoshop!

My GOD some of those dogs are FAT! And - well, odd. Yes. Odd is a good word for them.

Seriously, if 'cute' is what you want in a dog, head for a rescue centre because there are lots of them, including puppies... I'm not sure cute is a good enough reason for breeding a GSD with a Corgi (and I hope to goodness that the GSD was the dam!)

I read yesterday that the current Blue Peter dog is a dachshund X Red setter...

Doesn't look as weird as I expected but...how on earth....Someone had an uncomfortable job whichever way the cross was!

It might be a rescue though - in which case, good that they are promoting rehoming. Certainly hope it's a rescue!

ETA Just looked, the current one is from the Dogs Trust. Yay!

Thought it might be, still can't fathom the mechanics of it all. :D

Surely, a phone book must have been involved?

I remember reading a dog book once, one of these where the author writes all about their own dog with many hilarious anecdotes etc - one of them was about how a small, randy terrier would break into the garden and have a good go and impregnating the author's rather large lab, by means of the terrier standing on a mound of earth in the garden and the lab reversing up to him, the floozy!:D

LOL! The tart. :D

Maybe some sort of winch system? Who knows!

I have known breeders use phone books for toy breeds when the male is smaller than the bitch, proper respectable breeders too.
Re the Blue Peter dog, I wonder if they have just given it that designer cross label, you so often see strays advertised as such and such cross, and I often wonder how on earth they know unless said stray is carrying pictures of its parents with it. I think sometimes people just like to give a dog a label rather than call it a cross, hence anything black and tan with prick ears is a GSD x.

The Corgi/Chihuahua is possibly the freakiest thing I have ever seen, doesn't help I really dislike Chihuahuas:

What's wrong with just having a Heinz 57?! (Although the current trend for every cob to be a Fresian X bugs me just as much!!!)
