Just had to share, as I am as proud as punch :D

It's been four months since I bought my five year old, Enys and that horrible trip home when he panicked, jumping over our horsebox partition and had to be cut and dragged out by a team of firemen and vets.

Yesterday was his first ever trip somewhere by himself in the horsebox (he has been out with our mare and on short trips up the road by himself)! He loaded fantastically, travelled without a sound (well he neighed a few times) and then unloaded calmly. As he came from Ireland, this was probably his first time somewhere by himself as well!

So we went to my RIs for a lesson, he was a little looky to begin but soon calmed down. He went beautifully for me - he has had lots of physio and chiro since his accident and was really bad on his left rein. But yesterday he really seemed to have turned a corner - My RI couldn't believe he was the same horse :D

Then he loaded no problems on the way home and travelled like a pro :D. I am so proud of him :). I know alot of people may have just travelled him alone straight away but it has taken me this long too to pluck up the courage to do it.

Then for any of you who have followed our schooling progress, here is the newest video from our lesson...Click here!

He is heaps better, still head tossing but he's starting to work from behind where he wasn't before. Everyone who sees him move, thinks he'll make a nice little dressage horse. We're both learning, so very pleased with how he's looking :D

Thanks for reading!

well done. You're very brave - I imagine i would have been pretty nervous if I was in the same situation after what had happened. Glad to see he doesn't seem bothered or worried either.

Thank you :D I do feel a bit silly sometimes that I am such a nervous nelly...Especially as I never was before.

I know the feeling and it would have worried me too - unfortunately sometimes I really have to push myself to do things just in case something happens and invariably everything goes just fine!

Yeah i'm the same. A year ago it was different, but had a really bad year last year and it has made me into a really fussy owner ;)
