For the life of me I just cant seem to see four time canter. If someone says that horse is four beat I stand there and say yes but obviously feel a fool! Wrong leg, disunited is no problem . Any good ideas on what to look for???????????????

Intead of one diagonal pair of back and front leg hitting the ground at the same time each hoof will make contact separately.

No a four time canter is possible - my boy would often only do a 4 time in the school. It looks all wrong and feels absolutely horrendous, as though he is trotting behind. As above, it is when the diagonal pair are not in sync. Luckily he's slowly getting the hang of cantering correctly.

Thanks I know it should be obvious - think I'll video horse and watch over and over again (just like watching the old Solent tv)!!
