I'll have had Monty four weeks on Tuesday. For comparison, I had some pictures of the first time I rode him in his new home (in the bitless bridle) but because I'm a photo-nerd I have about a million SD cards and I can't find the one they're on
However, these were taken yesterday. My hands are still too low, my lower leg position is terrible and I spend too much time admiring his lovely mane... but in three weeks I feel that we've come MILES. When he first arrived he wouldn't stop doing a girraffe impression, hadn't a notion of 'outline' and he didn't halt. Didn't take off, but didn't halt
We still both have a HUGE way to go (I have to remember how to ride and he has learn to bend, to name but two obstacles!) but I love him to bits, he's amazing to ride. Despite not having done any real school-work for two years, he's so light in my hands and moves straight off my leg. He's also the most bombproof horse I've ever met on hacks, touch wood.

(And his 'shocking pastern axis' hasn't crippled him yet, fingers crossed
