Foxes live, just lovely :)

Oh no it has turned nasty, Brian may is too sentimental, the anti fox man has set up a completly false scenario, and arguing :(

For a start a baby would kick and scream, yes the ' baby is scraaming' but not moving.

I like Brian though - he is standing up for what he believes in - the anti fox man is a bit of a ****** really....stupid scenario he has set up....me thinks the pest controller who did the video is wanting more custom.....
 
Our local hunt come onto our land but I have a guilty pleasure in feeding a vixen and her 2 cubs cat food every night - to the disgust of my farmer partner. Thankfully the hunt won't be out for a while now and they're living practically in the stable yard and hopefully won't eat my daughter or cat!

I see no need to stop feeding town foxes, they are fed by dropping kebabs and such like every day, they almost seem like a different animal.

We have ' obviously living on a farm' foxes and they never bother our dustbins, so I suppose te answer is there!!!!!

Lovely animals, and have made me laugh, but still don't disagree with hunting, the only thing that did, was that prat on the for side!!!

I think that is very silly, assuming youre rural (?) healthy foxes have ample food they are, and should, be naturally hunting, you are allowing something fiercely independant to become.incredibly dependant on human population, that isn't good.
I haven't watched the programme, although im obviously pro hunting we do love foxes around here, breeding season is always a great time to hear them about.
 
Such cute cubs, I was nearly , very nearly to be persusded that hunting was wrong, again I think the pro hunting guys ( me ATM am one) need to choose their spokes man better, he was a prat!!!

Yes the hare and bird carcasses affirm she is capable of feeding her cubs. I hardly think a tin of cat food would make her dependent on human interaction :rolleyes:
 
Think the pro man was a bit of a fool if guenuine but the synical side of me has a funny feeling he could be a LACS man trying to discredit pro hint supporters by acting like an idiot. Wouldn't put it past channel 4 either though.
I do think a CA spokesperson should have been included as I did feel that it was very much aimed at glorifying the fox (which I do think are wonderful creatures by the way) and seemed to rubbish any suggestion that they could potentially be dangerous particularly if people are letting them Come inside their homes. ( I only saw it tonight mind so can only comment on that program).
Sorry if this post is a bit rambling it's half one in the morning and I'm knackered. It can't sleep so came on here!
 
The pro hunting spokesman was a poor ambassador for the countryside alliance and he just could not get the points Brian May and the Vet were asserting.One nil to the foxes there,and well deserved.They get a bad press and most people have little insight into their life and habits.How wonderful to get a glimpse of their lives,seeing them play and look after the cubs.I love seeing foxes,rural or town ones and i do have a great deal of respect for them,as their lives are tough.
 
I've had the roughest cold for the last few days so have loved getting in from the yard and watching this from under a blanket. They do seem a totally different breed of animal to the foxes we get on the farm though. The cubs are amazing and its lovely to get such a close up view of their lives. :D
Thought the piglet/baby was just laughable though.
 
I didn't watch all of it to be honest. I can't actually see why anyone would get pleasure fron hunting these animals though but each to their own. I don't agree with people trying to tame them though or encourage them in to gardens etc with food as then the next stories you get are about some "savage foxes" attacking children in houses! People are to blame for that as a truly wild fox just wouldn't approach humans. I liked the black fox though, shame it died :(
 
Yeah the guy who owns poor 'Miss Snooks' just scares me. Poor fox. It looks utterly miserable and confused. Fine if it can't be wild for whatever reason, but seriously, keeping it in a flat? It needs access to the outside surely?
 
Well you'd not think they were lovely if you had to go out and find the massacre that greeted me in my back garden - one dead goose (Gemima, my lovely girl) 2 ginea fowls (spelt wrong) and 11 chickens.

Fox just took one head of a chicken, he killed the rest just because he could.

So, feeding these mange ridden city foxes with day old chicks, to give them a taste for chicken, and then 'releasing' them to areas like mine in the country side (it happens, I have proof) so the cute, little fox can proceed to murder chickens in my village, well somehow they lose their appeal.

Personally, I think the hunt should be allowed to clear up these vermin from city streets, like they do in the countryside.

As for that bloke with a fox on a lead, which is clearly overweight, it's sick. They are wild animals and should be left alone to fend for themselves.

So, no, they are not lovely. They are predators and remember one maimed a small child as she slept in her bed in London not long ago? Cute? NOT!

I had trouble letting go of my cat, but my goodness! That's just scary!

I think foxes are VERY misunderstood and if they catch your pets (chickens, rabbits and things) then you're not keeping them secure enough.
I have a friend who has 13 rabbits and has kept them all her life. She lost one to a fox when she first had them and realised their pen wasn't good enough, so she made it better and none have been eaten since. I also kept guinea pigs and they were safe and my other friend keeps chickens and ducks and they have never been got, despite all of us living in a fox heavy area.
5 of my beautiful swans were eaten by foxes (I call them mine, but of course they were wild) but I don't blame the fox. It got them, because it could.
