How unusual is it to witness this? A couple of days ago we watched a pair of foxes for over an hour, on the headland of our field in the sunshine. The dog fox was showing great interest in the smaller vixen and she seemed quite interested in him! They lounged around for a while and then we saw them mating.

How many of you have seen this - just curious, as we have never seen this before!

I've actually got pic's of them on our top field at it! Perv I Know but I was on my own and knew nobody would believe me!

Well, January is the time of year for foxy nuptials. Usually people hear them rather than see them since a breeding dog fox calling for a vixen sounds like a cross between someone having their innards ripped out without anaesthetic and a vampire in a feeding frenzy.

I saw a couple foxes mating when at my mums in Aberdeenshire one year. Was taking the dog for a walk and we were downwind from the foxes so they didnt spot us.

The mating calls are sooo scary! I had never heard it before till 2yrs ago when I moved into my new flat which is near a nature reserve so foxes live around there. One night I was just going to bed when I heard the screaming and I seriously thought some woman was being murdered somewhere. Scared the hell out of me. Had to call my mum and wake her up and she said it could be foxes
