this is an xray from my horse that was pts last week after fracturing his left hock.
I owned a horse who fractured his hock due to a kick , my vet wanted to put him down but i begged them to help , they agreed to operate on him to see if they could remove a large bone fragment ,i was told that if it was as bad as it looked they wouldnt bring him round ,after a long day of worrying if my horse was a live or not ,i had a call to say he was ok for now , they gave him a 30 % chance of returning to work ,within 12 months he was in full work . I am only saying this in case anybody else is ever faced with a horse with a fractured hock ,there is hope sometimes .
