Fractured tooth removal on older horse (tooth 107) thoughts/advice please.

I was surprised to discover my 29 year old retired boy had a fractured tooth (tooth 107 if its relavent). It was picked up on his yearly dentist check, there were no signs at all he was in distress or struggling.

He's got vet coming to do xrays of teeth next week and dentist thinks it may need removing, I'd prefer it removed too as don't want it getting infected etc.

I'm wondering if anyone else has experience of a tooth removal particularly this tooth 107 on older horses.

I'm keen for procedure to be done at yard due to our circumstances/location etc,

I cannot express how fantastic they are. They will willingly and quickly advise or just have a chat via messenger/email. My horse had major major dental work done, half of which was correcting what my vet had tried to do. They were very reasonable price wise, in fact cheaper than my vets as they are so efficient.
I think they have a web site aswell.
 
I had a fractured tooth removed last year from my 30yr old! It was a back tooth (can’t remember exactly what tooth number without looking at paperwork) that was found by my equine dentist.

She went down to my veterinary practise who have a dental specialist where she had X-ray’s done and then stayed at the practice had the tooth removed under standing IV sedation. They kept her over night due to her age and the time she was under sedation. She was totally fine, she was very poor when she had the tooth removed she’d lost a huge amount of weight but soon after it was extracted she picked right back up.
 
Don't know what number they are, but my 29yo mare has had a couple of molar teeth removed (she has also lost a couple naturally). One had a piece that had broken off. Both were done at the yard under sedation.
 
Mine has a fractured tooth , xrays done and not causing any issues at present , thankfully £2000 to remove , been advised if
Not causing any issues leAve alone vets do regular checks
 
My now 28yo had a fractured tooth, the vet advised keeping an eye on it. Gradually the small broken parts fell out of their own accord so she now has a gap. None of it ever affected her.
