Free foal!!??!!

My colt hasnt dropped at 1yr 6 months but they are there! vet said to wait till spring then we should be fine for the opp, might just be a matter of waiting a little while!

Tazhazzamoose, what are you looking for and what is your budget? I keep seeing really nice youngstock in my area at bargain prices. Could you travel to Wales?

yeah exactly why he is free!
my mum consulted a breeder she knows who said if neither has dropped then he should be okay and it's a case of waiting. going to have a good grope when we go to see just to double check he doesn't have either down.

Faracat-he is only half an hour away so we are going to have a look and we have the time and space for him. considering he's free if he comes to us at least he's guarenteed a decent home and in two years time he'll have a purpose.

Poor little mite , i probley get shot for this, but why do people keep breeding if ,(a) they can't afford them or (b)and don't have any room for them
He is just another one in a long line of other horses that are in the same situation

Maybe her circumstances have changed and she can no longer afford to keep him or maybe she has lost her grazing - we shouldn't judge unless we know the full circumstances.

toatally agree, there should be a ban on breeding horses and other animals.

Give the ones homes that are already here and stop breeding more.

Whilsy this is a vaild point and the seller may well be a dealer. BUT...

Please consider my position - I brought a project mare in good faith......3 months later she foaled. I did not want a baby pony nor do I have the space - being on DIY livery but that is the situation I am in and I have to live with it. The market is dire and who wants to buy a weanling - not many people!!
