Just thought I would share with people that my horse has been allowed out of her stable at last after 14 months of box rest due to a tear in her DDFT. Vet came yesterday and she passed the test to go out. She was mildly sedated and off she went, took it all in her stride and it was weird to see her out there but really nice too. Shes in a small paddock to herself with hardly any grass which is a good thing, the little fatty!! Needs a bit of hay but rather it this way than risking lami. Today she was out again and didnt run about, only when she saw me and came trotting up for a treat - shes ruled by her stomach. Am so pleased shes able to freely stretch her legs now, it will be a culture shock to her at the weekend - shes going out full time!!!

Thanks Mrs M. Dont think I will sleep tonight, its her first night out . Worse than having a new born baby to worry about!!!

Oh I do hope you get some sleep tonight!!! ;)

Izzy will love being out all night and I hope she hasn't done any more running around..... well .... not while you were watching!!! :p

Was awake at just after 6am and at the yard just before 8am. Izzy was standing in the corner of the field with 4 others on other sides of the fence and all was well. No lameness and none the worse for being out all night for the first time in a long time. She came in for breakfast and then out for a short ride, all seems well. Its too good to be true have to say though long may it continue.
