Free returns for rugs - would it encourge you to buy?

Im not advertising but have been asked by an online store if this would make it more favourable to use them. The rugs cost slightly more, probably a few pounds but not much to make a big difference.

For me it would as I have had an occasion with this particular store to return a rug and have done so free of charge. Otherwise it would have cost me £8. Their customer service was excellent.

Would it encourage you to purchase rugs from online stores if they offered free returns for rugs that dont fit.

I suppose that I have taken it on board to do some customer research for them but would be interested to know what you think.
 
tbh, probably not. you still have to package it, wait in for delivery driver etc etc.

If I was buying a rug where I wasn't 100% sure of the fit, I would buy it from my local saddlery. And recently, getting catalogues through the door I have actually noticed that prices seem about the same if not MORE in the catalogues than in my local saddleries. People just assume online/mail order is cheaper.

I have spent the best part of about 70 - 80 quid over winter on postage/courier sending back various rugs that didnt quite fit as I would have liked :mad:

My ponio is in between sizes for some rug makes so I can never tell if a rug will fit her until I try it on.
 
My last rug purchases were from Swish - not more expensive, and i was able to return (obv in brand new condition) them if I needed a different size. So yes it would encorage me to purchase but I wouldn't expect to pay out extra for it, part of customer service really!
 
You would have to take it to a collection point, the courier company they use is called Collectplus.

I typed my postcode into the collectplus website and it came up with a few collection points which were newsagents and were all open till 10pm at night.

Suppose it could depend where you live.

did you have to pay for the postage?
 
If I had needed to send it back then I would have stood the postage cost.
Ahh, am rather slow today, just dawning on me that you wouldn't pay for the postage with the system you are suggesting!
In that case it would be tempting, but only if the extra cost of the rug was less than the return postage might be.
