Took pony for a hack and I never knew ferns were so dangerous - we had to keep a close eye on them, scrunch ourselves up close to the trees opposite and then race past them. The trees were making funny noises that sounded suspiciously like crows (but couldn't possibly have been, because, you know, they were so much scarier) so after much reversing and trying to turn for home, we bravely trotted through the woods and then across the road safely. There was then a scary MASSIVE beagle on the track that we snorted at. The swans weren't as scary today although the lab that keep racing towards us was. We stayed together and got home safely.

So, we're going to a mock hunt on Saturday (a first for both of us) and I have a feeling its not going to be sedate with my pony. In case I die, I'm offering her to anyone on here :D :D

If your looking for a nice, steady plod of a highland, sign up below :p She gets you home safely (if at a bit of a speed), will jump anything - whether you want to or not - and if you don't, don't worry, you'll canter sideways towards it and then pop over it. Out on hacks, she will make sure your awake by swiftly turning for home OR by putting her head to ground and then applying the brakes. She does wait for you to stop laughing, pick yourself up and stands for you to get on before she does it again. She loves to have fun.

She waits for you after launching you!!:eek::eek:

Yes please!! I can put up with everything else - in fact my lad is the same - only he doesn't wait and gallops for home :D:D

I have a soon to be 14 YO TB who is similar - he is terrified by any changes along the same road he has hacked out upon for 10+ years (notably, how dare that Campion/ Fox Glove / Cow Parsley) shoot up over night..........
