Free Weigh Tape {D&H}

Thanks MrsD :) I was just about to go and order my wormer (as you say it is tape worm time plus Nitty came back with a positive egg count- first time in two years!) anyway so this is an added bonus
 
Thanks Mrs D. I got one today from my local feed merchant. He gave me the tape with any wormer so I got Equest Paramox. I was going to buy a weigh tape to check my ponies weight. Surprisingly enough they don't weigh as much as I thought so it just goes to show I needed one. :)

Aha, mine measured in at 422kg, when doing it by the girth and length calculation he was 465, so I wonder if others can give us a "reality check", it is possible the tapes are wrong!
 
I would say the only sure way is to get them on a weigh bridge but we can't all do that. Weigh tapes or the alternative girth/length measurement can't be accurate but I wonder which one gives the nearest? Has anyone weighed on a weigh bridge and also checked weight with a tape? I always go by ponies condition as far as feeding goes but it helps for worming if you know their weight.:)
 
I know how much Nits is on a weigh bridge so if someone tells me the girth type way I'll work it out and get back to you :)

She is 449kg on the weigh bridge
 
my weigh tape from spillers is about 10kg out on my current horse - same tape on another horse was 50kg out - so depends on build of horse!

they are good for monitoring weigh loss/gain, but not always great for actually telling you how much horse weighs!
