Freelance Groom - Where to advertise

Where are you based? I was wondering the opposite - where to find freelance grooms advertised ! Have looked on the rider diary site and look in the local Equestrian Life but no luck so will be very interested in the results of your post.

I am based in Surrey but willing to travel. I worked abroad and trained with an Olympic rider with experience with event and dressage horse at olympic medal winning level. I am working but am missing the freelance work and would love to do some either nights or days etc but just do not know haw to get my self out there!
 
sorry maybe not much help but word of mouth is the best way!

Im a freelance groom in the notts/lincs area and I put ads up round the local yards and tack shops etc. (and one in my car!) and did get a few calls, but mostly its recommendations. Let peple know its what you are doing, and make sure you do a good job and you should be very busy soon!
 
Thank you for your advice. I will get some posters out in the local saddlery shops and feed merchants. I thought of having a website but because it will not be my main job, I am not sure if it is worth it as I only have 2-3 days off each week plus evenings to freelance.

I was thinking, there MUST be an advertising site though; must get googling!
 
think the british grooms association have ads but I know if I was looking for a groom I wouldnt even think of looking in there!

A website might be a good idea but the problem is that you have to get people to look at it in the first place!
