My yard has approx 30 horses and no groom, it is a DIY yard and has one full livery (dont ask about this as a full livery....please
) who went there in the days of jute rugs!
When we came 2yrs ago, a girl worked on the yard and my contract states that my horse will be fed breakfast and turned out as part of my livery. This has was the case until May of this year when the 'groom' left. Now we have to rely on each other to turn horses out etc. Today, Ralph was turned out into the rain in his stable rug, so that tells you the level of knowledge on the yard!
Does anyone have a freelance groom come to their yard and do stable duties? Its not even worth asking the yard owner as she has no interest and just want an easy life! Your probably asking why dont I just leave, this yard is so near to home/work and despite a few problems, the majority of people are lovely, something I've not experienced for a long time, plus Lumpy is really happy and settled.
Any suggestions
