Can any instructors tell me approximately what they currently pay for their Freelance instructor's insurance premium?

I'd like to get some quotes for a new policy as I'm doing some planning, but can't as it's Saturday, and it would be super helpful to get a rough idea of how much to budget for today!!

Thank you x

I think mine is about £200 for the year. I've got some bhs qualifications, and I'm only teaching people on their own horses

I used to do mine through the BHS. The cover was good but there were a lot of hoops to jump through. It was good value but actually cheaper through an insurance broker, I tried Julie Andrews. Although it was cheaper, they told me that the BHS was better for my circumstances, as the cover was for more. I can't remember the actual cost.

BHS isn't for at your own home or on your horse or any horse recommended by you though, if that matters to you.

If you're a BHS APC worth looking at their offer as it includes stuff like free safeguarding and first aid courses

There are a lot of hidden costs with being on the BHS register. Not so bad if you’re close to one of their favourite venues for training days, but if not you have to factor in the cost of the course (CPD, first aid, safeguarding) plus travel plus loss of earnings plus paying someone else to cover for you (in my case) and then pay membership and premium on top. You’re out several hundred quid by then.

Most people can get the cover they need from a number of insurers for around £200/year and do an online safeguarding course (from free to around £30) and a local first aid course.

Mines about £200ish a year, they also added a grooms cover so i can ride other peoples horses too.
It would be more if i wanted to use my own school and if i wanted to teach on my own horses.
