Freelander towing weights??

Just wondered if ne1 knew why all diesel freelanders have max tow weight of 1800kg but the XDI spec has max of 2000kg?! I have 17.2 ID but will be pulling him on his own in a 510 or 401 so can anyone tell me what they think of their freelanders please?? Thanks

FREELANDER 1 (2001 - 2005)
Unladen/kerb = 1500
GVW = 2040
Towing = 1800
With a HB401 downplated to 1400 leaving a load/horse capacity of 630 kgs this combination is legal for B licence towing

FREELANDER 2 (2005 onwards)
Unladen/kerb = 1785
GVW = 2505
Towing = 2000
With a GVW of 2505 it only leaves 995 kgs for a trailer MAM so deffo needs a B+E licence to tow a horse trailer

Corker, I tow a 401 (downplated ) with a freelander 1, I honestly would not want to tow anything over 16.2 in it x
