Freeze mark or Microchip?

Why? Nothing wrong with having both, but why specifically for a coloured or mare?

I would always go for a Freezemark as it is a visible deterrent.

Don't see the point in microchipping to be honest.
Freezemarking is a permanent, visible proof of identity.

I believe freezemarks are best ... my horse has a freezemark and i know that if he goes missing i know what to look for on his freezemark straight away!

I have one of each, pony has a freezemark, and horse had a microchip when we bought her so have left it at that, although i think i will get her Freezemarked at some point.

All foals born after 2009 have to be microchiped anyway!

My boy is freezemarked on his shoulder. I see no point in marking and then hiding it under a saddle.

My horse had a chip when I got him. I got him FM as it is so visual.

my mare was microchipped when I got her but I am having her freeze marked in a few weeks.
