Freeze marking waiting time?

Iv got my boy registered with farmkey to have his freezemarking done but the lady is waiting for a few more bookings in the area before she will do it. Just after a rough guestimate as to how long roughly this may take?

Think there is another company; sorry, can't remember who though - someone on here may know??

Don't think its acceptable TBH that you have to wait till someone else in the area wants theirs done too! You could wait for months if not years.

Was the same for me when Freezemark did mine, they won't do just one in an area, which I can understand with fuel costs what they are.

I asked on the local Facebook groups and soon had a group of people booking appointments and it was done about 2wks after I initially phoned.

I'm still waiting about 6 months after asking for one to be done....

We used Freezemark LTD both times, it took about 2 months for them to come out the last time - the first time we used them (a couple of years ago) it was quicker as we were the last people to be added to the "group".
Both Freezemark & Farmkey wait until they have a certain number in each area before coming out - as feathered said, mainly due to travel costs I should think.

I cant remember who did my horse LOU but it was done within a week of the claim being approved, but i think i was just lucky she was in Scotland that week

I am keen to have mine freezemarked; but still waiting to hear back from freezemark ltd (I enquired over a year ago!).

Farmkey were quite quick when I had my boy done last year, think it was within about 2 weeks.

Farmkey don't wait till they have enough they do most areas every 2-3 weeks. I should know as I do marking for them, and they go out to single owners, so if you want your horse marking ring and ask, will not put my number on here as too public but you can message me or email Farmkey info@farmkey.co.uk or my email freezemarking@premierequimark.co.uk if you want a date or some info.

I gave up on both companies so my boy is still unmarked.

Freezemark Ltd wanted me to organise a group of 8 people to make it worth their while coming out (which I thought I would be able to do but failed to in the end).

Farmkey gave me the number for their representative for my area. So I called her and she asked me to text her my details as she was in the middle of a marking when I phoned. I texted my details as requested and a week later had heard nothing. Phoned again and the representative's daughter answered and said her mum was at the yard with her horses and would phone me back in 45 mins. Nothing.

Phoned again a few days later and no reply so left a message on voicemail. Nothing. Gave up.

I've got Premier Equimark coming to do one of my horses tomorrow, waited about 6 weeks but then its a loss-of-use insurance claim so may well be a different waiting time.
