well i was thinking of getting rosie freeze marked but all the usual places they do it are white on her. has anyone else had a mainly white horse freezed marked? and has it come out well? also if u inhand show would they put u down for a bisiable freeze mark? i wouldnt of thought so but i thought i would ask :)

with a white horse they will usually do a bald mark rather than a white mark, this is great if the horse is dark skinned, but can need to be clipped out regularly if the horse is pink skinned to keep it visible.
Also they wont do a bald mark under the saddle area.
We had a coloured cob, freezemarked on his shoulder that went to Royal London and placed 4th in the ridden Cob, and nobody commented on his mark. I think it's become much more acceptable.

A horse that I know has it on the stifle area on a black bit as she didn't want a bald mark.
She's never been marked down and shows at county level.

thanks for the replys im just wondering weather it is worth having it done she is mirco chipped but it is nice to have a visual detterance.

the only place i thought she could have it is on her shoulder as its half white half brown.

Maybe she could have it on her shoulder but rather in a line, have it in a square :)
She is lovely and I would recommend you get it done. If the unthinkable was to happen, there is far more chance she'd be recovered with a freezemark than without.

My grey mare was freezemarked on the shoulder - a bald mark.

However they prefer to mark coloured horses on the coloured sections.

With your lovely looking mare why not have her done on her left hand side on the brown section under where a square saddlecloth would go?

When my mare was done they did offer to do her in this place but as I had already clipped her shoulder for them I went with that!

Regarding showing my black gelding has a freezemark under the saddle area and has done well in in-hand showing where it can be clearly seen :)

yeah think i shall just take her to get it done and see what they say about places to so it or bald marking. thanks x

I had my mare done on her flank as this is her most coloured area.

The person whi did it (Northern Brand) advised against any small patch of colour as the 'wrong' people could freeze out the freeze mark.

Picture talen shortly after it was done.

Archie has been freezemarked twice as the first time it didn't take. It is supposed to be a bald mark as it was done on his shoulder. After the 2nd attempt, unfortunately, it is still illegible. I think it is because he is thick skinned.

If I could turn back time I would have had it done on his flank where he has a bit of black.

My little ones front markings look similar and we managed to get hers in the brown area.
Not sure if this picture will post as I am not good with pictures so may have to edit!
