Freezemarking...?

well im going to organise for barney to be freezemarked. i have a few qeustions about it though.
firstly as he is grey will it be done on his shoulder?
what are the best company to go with?
apparently you can personalise it... if you can (??) what should i go with:
his stable name is barney and show name Pour Toi, heres what ive come up with so far:

It should be done on the shoulder as it will be a bald mark.

I wouldn't worry about personalising it

I recommend Freezemark

It costs more to personalise it, I went for cheap and cheerful. My grey was done on the shoulder but tbh its still not that visible.

Oh, thats good news. My boy is going to be done on Sunday and I am having a personalised mark - RCHI for Archie. It was suggested by someone on here (I thought they were very clever). I am nervous cos don't really know how he will be but will have to wait and see. I am going with Freezemark.

oh thank you for that.. i read the post in stolen horses etc. and it seems to be that freezemark are better.
re it not been seen very clearly, is that with all greys or just because how it was done?
ahh im kinda excited but scared

my dads happy to pay for the actual thing but i will chip in for the personalised bit

You can see my grey's freezemark in my siggy - I know she had it redone, but many years ago, in the 90's, so it lasted well!

I'll go against the grain here and recommend Farmkey ... only because I had mine done in February and initially called Freezemark. I am still waiting for them to call me and tell me they will be in my area.

I didn't go for a personalised mark, to me, it kind of defeats the object, having your horses name stamped on it's body.

I think freezemark only do all letters or all numbers and Farmkey use a mix of both.

I had mine personalised becuase if you did you only had to use three letters (or numbers) and I thought that was nicer on my horse - especially as it only costs £10 extra!!!

I'd recommend Farmkey, Ive not long had Izzy done. I rang Freezemark.biz about 2 months ago and they said they'd ring me when they are in area.... still havent got back to me!! lol

I had mine personalised! it was an extra £24.95!

Don't worry about having it done...it isn't as bad as you think it will be!! I'm such a worrier and Izzy can be a right git but she was well behaved! just have a bucket full of carrots and apples! lol

No, they both do a mix of numbers and letters. Freezemark do one letter and two numbers, farmkey use a combination and four digits.

I also recommend Freezemark, had a grey done and can only be done on the shoulder. her Freezemark was clealry visible as soon as it healed, never needed to be re-done.
