Now i'm sure this has been done to death, however!! *ahem*. I come across people all the time on forums and on the yard, panicking about horses being stolen, it is of course most people worst nightmare (certainly mine!).

If people are so overly concerned and worried about their horses being stolen or 'marked' for theft then why on earth don't they freezemark?! Both my horses are freezemarked, its simple easy theft prevention. Farmkey who marked mine has some statistic where by none of their horses they have marked have been stolen and the percent of freezemarked horses that are and are then found is somewhere up on the 90%... Of course its still a risk but you really do reduce it. Goodness I don't even notice my boys marks anymore, but they are there plain as day. And its peace of mind for me.

What what your STOLEN poster say, in all seriousness there was a police file brought out to locate a stolen horse that read ''Stolen from field, Bay horse... Long brown face...''

Buddys would be ''Tri-coloured gelding, half white face, Freezemark 8UDZ''. He is microchipped too. Silver is grey, he is microchiped and has the little mircochip symbol bald marked on his shoulder, with a loss of use one below it. Its clear as he has black skin...

So if you have freezemarked we'll be on the same page, if you haven't why not? I really am wondering?

You can just see Buddy's here... I like it, it is his personalised registration :p

I don't know about the stats but I did it as seemed an obvious thing to do. Like having a burglar alarm - less likely than someone else in the street to get robbed.

Mine was chipped before I got him, and I have a micromark which is like a mini freezemark so you can tell he's registered and chipped.
