Freezing fog weirdest thing happened!!

Fed the horses and was low on chaff so went down the farm to get some more, when we came back up this is what welcomed us.

Freezing fog!!

But it did something really weird to their coats the only thing I can think of is that it got so cold so quick that the moisture froze on their coats, not very good pictures as taken on my phone but never seen this before. They were not like it when I first went up there I was only gone for 15 min to get some more food from the store.

Most of our horses at work have been coming in like this for days, especially worse today with the freezing fog. The little Shetland is covered head to toe in frost, complete with snowballs in feet and playing tunes with the icicles on her whiskers! Her little dartmoor friend is sporting some amazing high heels and highlights in her mane and tail as she wears a rug!

Freezing rain is what you need to worry about, now that stuff is just darn unpleasant:

Walking through a frozen field like this is like walking through glass, amazing.

yes, went up early to put mine to bed at about 3:30 and by 3:45 it was minus 8 and freezing fog had moved in. This is on the South Coast!!!

We've had it on and off all day near Portsmouth. Looking out of one side of the office there were clear blue skies but looking out towards the sea it was a thick bank of fog.

I suppose im not used to the freezing fog thing being down south and that

Temperature not bothering me but is really eerie with this fog now.

I just love how it made her ears go white, she looks very refined ( I really need to learn some new smilies on here )

I left home at 4.20 to get coal, it was -4 when I left, drove to the next village - 3 miles, loaded 2 bags of coal and drove home, by the time I was home the fog had come down and it was -7 - total of 15 mins max, quite scary!
