French Anglo Arabs / Selle Francais - where do I find one?

I was wondering if anyone could help me. 15 years ago I was lucky enough to own a french anglo arab who had run in France as a young horse and then evented, he came to me when he retired and gave me 3 fantastic years and was without a doubt one of the best horses I have ever sat on.

Last year I very sadly lost a french mare (who was registered as an ISH but by a french horse) who looked very like the other horse and in talent she ran him a close second.

I would love to be able to find another one of these horses but have no idea where to start looking. Ideally I would like one who has run in France but has been too slow for racing.

Any ideas please would be very gratefully received.

i know about 5 people who have horses from here and one of them is doing light unaff competing in SJ.

and then you have the breeding farms if you want a good youngster. i bought my youngster from Foxglen Stud in Normandy and shes amazing. they have a few for sale right now i know, pm me for details or call them direct they have a website. its not updated but it has contact details.

THEN you have people like me leaving for university in a year and i have to sell/loan off my mare but thats in a year so if you'd like to wait... :P

what kind of budget do you have/what sort of horse you looking for? i know people (private sellers) who are looking for good homes for their horses (most are like me and are selling due to school commitments.)

an alternative would be go on uk horse for sale sites and be breed specific to SF or AA.

here in france though we have such excess of AAs and SFs especially it would give you bigger choice to look for a horse here and have it shipped for not too much.
 
seen some nice youngsters by laurier du hare, haras nationale, anglo with a nice head and comp record, there's a group of breeders in normandy who have normally got youngsters for sale and run classes for anglos at normandie horse show in august
 
We have just helped someone on another forum who is looking for a particular SF blood line. Sorry don't have the time to help you but the Haras Nationaux Database is fantastic.

We were able to search how many female offspring from the stallion she was interested in; how many currently for sale;year of birth; how many foals they had produced;which dept in France; name and phone number of owner.

You will need help from someone in France who has password access to SIRE the database but it is a fantastic source of information and is what the UK should aim for!!

Please god don't buy one! there are thousand coursing thru slaughter houses with absolutely nothing wrong with them, (ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH THEM) if you want one for free please PM me, I have had several horses from abattoirs who i have trained up and have gone on to be worth fortunes.
Its not like rescuing chickens i promise.
